ABOUT ETERNAL FOOD BANK

What is Eternal Food Bank?

Eternal Food Bank is a faith-based non-profit public charity that secures and redistributes food to those requiring food assistance in our community. Eternal Food Bank is a Food Bank division of Eternal Food Ministry.

Eternal Food Bank is named after The Eternal God (Deuteronomy 33:27) who alone is Jesus Christ. The name clearly states the intent for which this food bank is established, as further evidenced in our motto Sharing the Bread of Life.

People give out food to help those who need it, this is great and laudable, but consider the difference when the same is done in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to reach the needy with the hope of reconciling them to their creator (2 Corinthians 5:20). This has a far reaching implication in demonstrating real love towards the needy for someday food will finish, wealth will cease to have influence, what remains is whether you have made peace with God by receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior. (Romans 5:1)

And Jesus said to them I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst (John 6:35),

Eternal Food-The food that lasts for all of eternity is the Lord Jesus Christ!

A HISTORY OF ETERNAL FOOD BANK

Eternal Food Bank started out as a food pantry under Eternal Food Ministry in 2011. It started out as a mobile food pantry, moving from neighborhood to neighborhood, sharing fresh produce every month. In 2013, the ministry changed to non-perishable foods and began using food boxes, to package food. This idea was to expand our scope of food assistance from once a month, to, all through the month.

As Eternal Food Ministry began to grow (and still growing) in giving out food assistance and other activities, the need arose to compartmentalize the various activities carried out by Eternal Food Ministry, for better development and management of each unit. Thus, Eternal Food Ministry became the mother-ship, and her activities were sorted into units. This was how Eternal Food Bank emerged.

Eternal Food Bank currently serves clients three times a week, and is expanding her activities farther beyond her physical location with the use of food distribution points that will be operated by registered members of  Community groups-Christ’s Disciples Fellowship (CDF)

CDF’s comprise believers who meet once a week for home Bible groups in different neighborhoods, under the umbrella of Eternal Food Evangelistic Organization (EFEO), which is the chief evangelizing unit of Eternal Food Ministry.  CDFs will give out food weekly to those needing assistance in their Bible groups local meeting areas, using packaged food boxes from Eternal Food Bank.

By doing this, we can offer help to those who need food, but do not have a ride to come to where we are, to get the help they need.

Eternal Food Bank serves all people, from all walks of life, regardless of zip codes, creed, color; or country. They only need to prove that they need food assistance. However, clients must call to make appointment. We usually operate a 24 hour turn around service from the time a client calls, except there are situations beyond our control.

Eternal Food Bank gets her foods from local grocery stores who are willing to support our cause. Social, school, community and church groups who have identified with this worthy cause also carry out food drives for us; monthly, quarterly or annually. Others support the food bank by donating needed equipment, or monetary donations toward the purchase of food, and other associated costs with operating the food bank.
